this top of the range document processor. Save and print are disabled in
this version. Needs 1 Meg.

Virus Killer program from Floppyshop. The demo is in fact the main program
from the commercial release but with the ability to kill Viruses disabled.
It is intended to let you 'try before you buy' the commercial version. The
full version has the ability to kill the viruses (obviously!) as well as a
number of associated utilities. G-Print Demo. This is a program which allows
you to print out documents using a variety of GDOS fonts. The only
restriction with the demo is that it prints 'G-Print DEMO' at the top of
each page. You need to have GDOS installed to use this demo. Striker - The
demo of the game from Impressions. You can practice two of the twelve skills
in the demo. Striker is colour only.
DEM.762M Proscore - The demo of the Midi Sequencer from Digigram. This is

excellent Dynacadd package. Includes extensive documentation and demo
files. From DMC, creators of Calamus. The Save function is disabled in the
demo version. Otherwise it is fully functional. These disks need at least
1 Meg.
DEM.805M Write On - The demo of the word processor by Compo. This is a
rolling demo so there's no user interaction. It is well presented and takes
an in depth look at each and every feature of the package. Although the
demo needs a mono monitor, the full version runs in colour too.
DEM.810M STAD - An impressive demo version of this highly acclaimed mono
art package. Everything is fully functional except that you cannot save your
work. A screen grabber (on disk) overcomes the problem by saving 32k dumps
but these cannot be re-loaded into the STAD demo. Highly recommended if you
are considering buying the commercial release. This demo does not run on the
STE but the commercial product does.
DEM.812 Imprint v1.24 - A useable demo of a budget priced print utility
from zzSoft. Create high quality print outs in a similar fashion to Flexi-
Dump. The only restrictions with the demo are the ability to print out the
supplied pictures only and a time limit of 20 minutes per session. The demo
supports 9-pin and 24-pin printers (colour or mono). IMPrint runs in any
resolution. Sales Controller by Andrew Brown - This is an impressive
invoicing and stock control system. Can be used with Sage compatible
continuous invoice paper. The demo is fully usable with the exception of

author.
DEM.843 Maxifile from Codehead Software - An ACC that features countless
file handling utilities. There are a number of features disabled in this
version. Quick ST v2.2 by Branch Always Software - The demo of the screen
accelerator. Claims to out run Turbo ST! Several features are disabled in
this version. Steno - A demo version of a text editor. Save is disabled.

accounts and 30 invoices. It is otherwise fully functional. Requires 1 Meg
and an Epson or IBM compatible printer. Datastore by Woolleysoft - A
Shareware release which is fully functional with the exception that you
cannot update or delete records once they have been created. Both programs
run in high or medium res.

version limits input to 10 horses per race and has some other features
disabled. The full version is available from the author at low cost. Runs in
colour or mono. Art Kraft - A useable demo of an extensive mono art package.
There is a time limit on use and some features are disabled. Handles
numerous graphic formats. Art Kraft will not run on TOS 1.4 or higher.
Quinsoft Trax - A demo version of Quinsoft's Trax Recording Studio. This
suite of productivity programs is specifically designed for recording
studios. It includes Tracksheet, Invox, Address Utilities and a Disk
Archiver. If you own a busy studio this may be an essential purchase, but
it's not for the home user. The demo is fully functional except that it
cannot save or print.
DEM.874C B.BYTES DEMO DISK - Demos of 3 commercial releases from B.Bytes.
B.SPELL - A spelling program with pictures and digi sound for young
children. The demo only has pictures A to F enabled. PLAY SPELL - A
platforms and ladders game in which you wander around collecting letters to
make up a word. The demo only has 2 of the 20 screens enabled. SCHOOL TIME
MATHS - A non-interactive demo. Covers seven different topics from
elementary maths. Features digitised speech.
DEM.877C ORIGAMI - A demo of an ingenious commercial product. The demo has
only one digitised model for you to follow but the full version has ten. In
addition, you can save and print out your own designs in the commercial
version. A truly novel approach to the ancient art of paper folding.
DEM.879 VIRTUOSO from The Digital Muse - Demo version of this excellent
99-track multi-tasking MIDI sequencer. Very fast in operation and highly
accurate. Its many features include comprehensive editing facilities and a
word processor! Cannot save and only runs for 15 minutes. M from
Intelligent Music - Demo version of this MIDI pattern processor. Record
patterns from a keyboard and process them in various ways. Not so much a
sequencer as a semi-random music generator, but sophisticated for all
that. Cannot save and only runs for 10 - 20 minutes. DT PAINT - A demo
version of a mono only paint package which runs as an accessory and allows
you to create and edit IMG files. Save is disabled.
DEM.897M REDACTEUR 3 - The demo of the word processor from the ST Club.
This program can load numerous WP file formats, supports different typefaces
and character sizes, imports, crops and rescales pictures in several formats
and lots more. It is user friendly with pop up menus coming off main menus
and comes with over 50 printer drivers. This version has save and mail merge
disabled but can output to your printer. Countless features, well worth
checking out. Needs 1 Meg.
DEM.903M TEMPUS WORD by CCD - A capable word processor which allows the use
of multiple fonts, different point sizes and different text effects. Up to 8
documents can be held in memory at once and opened into a window at any
time. Numerous utilities are built in including a calculator, alarm clock,
printer spooler etc. IMG files can be incorporated into documents. This demo
is fully functional, except that Save is disabled. Needs 1 Meg.
DEM.904 AVANT VECTOR - A useable demo from System Solutions. Everything is
fully functional in this vector graphics package except the saving and
printing. Mono only, needs 1 Meg. HOME ACCOUNTS 2 - A useable demo of this
popular package from Digita International with the save function disabled.
Colour or mono. MASTER TIME - The demo of the educational program by
B.Bytes. Features 5 games based around learning to tell the time. No user
interaction. Colour only. PERSONAL DATABASE PLUS - A useable demo of an
excellent database from Bay Computers. Save is disabled in this version.
Mono or colour.
DEM.3088 BOOTLOADER HD/D by Software Twrdy - A demo of a commercial
program from Austria. It lets you customise your bootup options and is most
use to hard drive owners. Bootloader allows you to select from up to 64
autoboot programs and 64 accessories. Countless other options are built in.
As this is a demo, you can explore the options of the program but
everything is disabled before returning to the Desktop. The full version
includes an English manual.
DEM.3089 PCG FONT DESIGNER - Allows you to design and kern vector fonts.
You cannot save your creations with this version. A number of conversion
programs are also available from PCG which allow you to convert between
Calamus, Pagestream etc. HAYAI - A very fast program for copying data from
one partition to another on your hard drive. This demo reads the data and
reports back the data transfer speed. It won't write anything to your disk.
MULTIDEMO - A useable demo of Codehead's Multi-ST. This program allows you
to load more than 6 accessories and lets you load and unload accessories
when required. The demo has several functions disabled including the ability
to load and save setups. Also, the demo only allows accessories to be
loaded/unloaded for about ten minutes. PCG Font Designer is mono only. The
other programs run in mono or colour.
DEM.3315C FOOTBALL TACTICIAN by Talking Birds - A playable demo of Camy
Maertens' ultimate Football Manager simulation. Football Tactician allows up
to 22 players to participate and is based on tactics and strategy rather
than sheer luck. There is full commentary throughout the match and matches
can be replayed for analysis. Tactics may be changed mid-game as many times
as you like and up to 21 seasons can be stored on disk. This is THE football
manager game! The demo features English 1st Division only and has several
features disabled. However it is more playable than most demos and you'll
just have to buy the full version after playing this one!
DEM.3316C PROTRACKER V1.3 - A useable demo of the long awaited followup to
the Esion Tracker on MUS.162. This program is undoubtedly THE soundtracker
program, giving the best range of functions and highest quality output of
anything on the ST or Amiga! There are separate ST and STE versions of the
program and several MOD files are provided for you to try out. New features
include unlimited samples in memory at once (subject to available memory)
and sampling software which will control the more popular sampling
cartridges. Save is disabled but everything else is fully functional. Look
out for the commercial release in the near future.
DEM.3317 ADDRESS V1.3b by Degsoft Software - An impressive address book. You
can easily locate a person's details and print out an adddress label, time a
telephone call, print out lists of names and telephone numbers, check for
duplicate addresses, autoload address file etc. There are several
limitations in this demo version. The full program is available at low cost
from the author. MEGACHEK - A Comprehensive home accounts package which
keeps track of all your bills. It is very flexible with lots of information
on screen and everything else available at a click of the mouse. Everything
is done on a hierarchical structure with each category being further divided
into several sub categories. The full version is available from the author.
Megachek needs 1 Meg.
DEM.3319 FEELING PARTNER by Music Pro Import - A Midi sequencer with a
number of extras thrown in. It allows you to build up your own compositions
manually or by use of pre-defined music data. The harmony function of the
program then creates an appropriate harmony for your masterpiece in real
time. All Save operations are disabled but the program is complete in all
other respects. Needs 1 Meg. FONT KIT PLUS 3 by The ST Club - A
comprehensive program which allows you to create or edit a variety of font
types and convert between these formats. Probably the best font editing
software on the market. The demo has Save disabled but is otherwise fully
functional.
DEM.3320 CROSSWORD CREATOR 2 by Fair Dinkum Technologies - A capable
crossword puzzle creator. The demo only allows 5 words to be entered.
FRACTAL MUSIC V2.4 by Data Music - A Midi composition package which creates
music using fractals. Fully functional except for the Save option and the
fact that it locks up after about 7 minutes. You must have a Midi instrument
connected. FRONT END - An attractive graphical interface written in GFA
Basic. The demo merely shows the possibilities of the system. It0 is
available direct from the author as a collection of GFA Basic routines for
incorporation into your own programs. RIP IT UP - This program is a cut
down version of a commercial program which teaches and tests you on the
Highway Code. Highly recommended. Colour only. WORD SEARCH CREATOR by Fair
Dinkum Technologies - A word puzzle creator which is compatible with word
list generated by their crossword creator. The demo is limited to accepting
5 words only.
DEM.3460 CHRONOS - A demo version of a 3D key frame animation program from
Lexicor. Fully functional except that Save and Export are disabled. ICONDEMO
- A CPX for use with XControl on UTL.391 for designing your own icons for
use with TOS v2 upwards. Save is disabled in this version. CONCERTO - The
Midi sequencer from Microdeal. This version is fully useable with apart from
having Save and a few other options disabled. RC AEROCHOPPER - A great demo
showing off the RC Aerochopper software to its best. You can wander around
the setup menus and change the parameters to suit, although they will have
no effect on the demo. It alternates between aircraft and helicopter flights
of no more than two minutes each. Due to the infinite choices available, you
are unlikely to see the same aircraft following the same flight path unless
you run the demo for several hours. The product itself consists of a
combination of hardware and software. All programs on this disk will run in
medium or high res, except for Concerto, which is medium res only.
DEM.3470 TIGER CUB by Dr T's Music Software - A demo of a comprehensive
Midi sequencing package which is fully functional except that you cannot
save your work and you can only print out one line of your score. A cut down
manual is included on disk to help you find your way around the program.
DEM.3581M & DEM.3582M CALAMUS SL '96 - The very latest version (Jan
'97) of Calamus SL. Like its predecessors this version is fully modular with
the user purchasing additional modules if and when required. Calamus SL can
create full colour pages and supports colour separation at the printout
stage. You can work on up to 7 documents in memory at once and cut and paste
data between them. All frame types are cached for greater speed. Features
include the ability to create and assign master pages, create and save text
style lists, expand compress and skew text, rotate and mirror frames, print
parts of pages, define units of measurement for pages, fonts and lines,
align frames to other frames and choose from three frame display modes
(transparent, opaque and inverse). Although nominally mono only, Calamus SL
will run on any ST/STE/TT/Falcon on a resolution of at least 640x400 pixels.
This means that it will run with large screen monitors (and virtual screen
emulators) in colour. This is a complete implementation of the program with
the only restrictions being that you cannot save your work and that a
watermark is printed on each page. This latest version is fully MagiCMac
compatible, allows text to be scaled to the size of the frame, includes
several new graphic import/export modules, includes printer drivers for the
HP 660 and Stylus 2, features some improvements to the user interface and
includes some new modules. You need to have 2 Mb of memory and a hard drive
to run Calamus SL. The more memory and hard drive space, the better. Two
disk set, £3.00 for set.
DEM.3585 EASY TEXT PROFESSIONAL by zzSoft - This is the long awaited
followup to Easy Text Plus. It is a highly proficient Desktop Publishing
program which comes into the budget category on features alone. It is at
least as proficient and easy to use as Timeworks but has several extra
features normally found only in top of the range packages like Calamus. Easy
Text Pro uses GDOS, so extra fonts are readily available both commercially
and in the Public Domain. The demo is a complete implementation of the full
package except that you can only print out a quarter of a page of work
you've done yourself. The demo pages supplied can of course be printed out
in their entirety. Needs at least 1 Meg and runs in colour or mono.
DEM.3593 SLAVE DRIVER by Mind Over Midi - This program allows you to have
as much or as little spontaneity in live performances. It can be set up in
such a fashion that you can trigger pre-recorded sequences by commands from
your Midi instrument while playing live. Any sequence can be triggered at
any time and indeed as often as required. In addition, Slave Driver does not
require a monitor on stage as it prints its messages to the LCD panel on
your Midi instrument. There are two demos on this disk. The first is a fully
functional version of Slave Driver with only save disabled. It runs in
medium or high res. The second demo is a self running tour of the package.
It only runs in mono and will not work with a mono emulator. Needs 1 Meg.
DEM.3603 - BREAKTHRU by Gadjits - This is a development of Sequencer One
Plus and is currently (as at March 1993) the only MIDI sequencer which also
outputs samples via AVR's Replay 16. Several functions are disabled in this
demo but there is enough to whet the appetite. In fact, songs created are
saved in their entirety, but only the first 12 bars are loaded back in.
Unfortunately only the samples on the disk can be used. You cannot use your
own samples. Needs 1 Meg.
DEM.3634 & DEM.3635 PAGESTREAM 2.1 DEMO - An excellent demo of Soft
Logik's best selling DTP package. This version is fully functional apart
from the fact that you can't save your work. The Pagestream fonts and sample
pages from our Pagestream support disks will load into it and give you an
idea of what the package is capable of.
DEM.3905 PHOENIX RENDER by Lexicor - A commercial raytracing package which
uses a GEM interface and has been Falcon enhanced. A number of demo script
files are supplied for you to try out. This is the predecessor to Xenomorph.
It saves out its files in Degas, GIF, SPC or TGA format, depending on your
preference. As far as I can make out, it will only view the wireframe
objects and let you render them. You cannot edit your own scenes.
DEM.3907 DC DATA DIET - Compresses data and programs in real time on your
hard drive to fit more onto the available space. The demo is restricted to
working with all *.DOC files on Drive C only. Demos of DC Squish, the
program compressor, and Data Diet Tools are also included. BUTTONZ BASIC - A
utility which aids the development of programs in GFA Basic. It is
essentially a replacement for the GFA shell supplied with GFA Basic v3
upwards, but has a number of improved features. There are several
restrictions with this demo version. EASY BASE - An easy to use database
which allows up to 20 fields, each with a maximum length of 40 characters.
What makes this database unique is that it holds the entire database in
memory to allow fast searching through records. This demo is limited to 20
records. LONGTUTH V1.2 - Overcomes the 8 letter filename limitation. File
descriptions of up to 240 characters are possible with Longtuth and these
can be searched in order to identify which file is required and where it is
located. The demo is limited to three Longtuth operations per session. MINI
LEDGER v3.1 - A GEM based accounts program. Initially it appears very simple
with only Expense and Income Sheets and Overall Final Summary as the
options. However, each leads to a stack of sub menus. There's a 5 record/ 15
minute restriction on use in the demo.
DEM.3908 EASY GO V1.3 - A program launcher. It requires nothing more than a
few clicks of the mouse to set up. After that you simply select the program
you want to run, from the menu. The demo is restricted to 10 menu items, the
full version allows up to 65. MANULIZER v1.0 - Creates an A5 size manual
with all the pages printed in the correct order for folding. Unfortunately
it only works on an HP Laserjet. The demo is restricted but I can't say what
it is since I don't have a Laserjet! THE RECIPE CONVERTER V1.2 - Converts
recipe files from Assistant Chef, Meal Master, The Recipe Box, Q Book,
Computer Chef and ASCII to output in The Recipe Book format. The demo is
restricted to converting the first 22 recipes of the input file. TBXCAD - A
two dimensional drafting package which allows an infinite drawing plane, a
wide range of drawing primitives, exact specification of locations, multiple
layers, scaling, dimensioning and much more. It can import AutoCAD DFX files
and export GEM Metafiles. Fully supports extended resolutions if you have a
TT. The demo has print and save disabled. Available from The ST Club in the
UK.
DEM.3910 D2M v2.50 by PARX Software - An art package which runs in any
resolution. It loads and saves almost any file format using Parx's M&E
modules. Most things work with the exception of saving. It supports Speedo
GDOS and is Multi-TOS friendly. It looks like a very capable package and is
now in English.
DEM.3913 TRUE PAINT by HiSoft - This was the first art package capable of
running in true colour. It seems to support the largest amount of file
formats of those on this disk. However, the demo only loads JPEG and TPI
formats. There are very few tools but the package is simple to use. Speedo
GDOS and Multi-TOS are supported. Apart from not saving, this version is
identical to the full version. JIGSAW by The Dolphin Group - This is a
computer adaptation of a traditional jigsaw puzzle. Simply scroll through
the pieces on the demo puzzle, select them and position them on the board.
You can view your progress on the full puzzle at any time. This demo comes
with just one puzzle and has numerous options disabled. The full version
lets you load up different puzzles, save unfinished puzzles for resumption
at a later date, rotate pieces and so on. Great fun. IMAGECOPY 3 from The ST
Club - This is the demo of the followup to the highly renowned Imagecopy 2.
It lets you grab screens from within another program and save them to disk.
It also converts between IMG, Degas, GIF, TIF, PCX, IFF, Prism Paint, True
Paint, TGA, BMP and others. A comprehensive list of printers is supported,
including colour ones. You cannot save with this version and program
information is stamped across printouts. DESK MANAGER - Another boot
configuration program in a similar vein to Superboot and XBoot. This
Shareware demo only runs from Drive A and a number of the most useful
options have been disabled. Certainly worth a look.
DEM.4173 PIXART by Omikron - A demo version of an art package which is
Falcon enhanced and runs in any resolution. It can load and save (disabled
in this demo) in IMG, IFF, TIFF, PCX, ESM, Degas and its own format,
depending on resolution. A large number of tools are available and the
program is very similar in style to Calamus with the main icons across the
top, each leading to another menu of icons. Pixart also accepts input
directly from scanners and graphic tablets. Unfortunately both program and
docs are in German. Distributed in the UK by The ST Club. ECOPY V1.5 -
Probably the best disk formatting and copying utility yet. It formats and
copies DD, HD and Quad Density (2.88Mb) disks if your machine has had the
necessary upgrade fitted. Both standard and extended formats are offered for
all three disk types. ECopy also lets you set the step rate, analyse disk
formats, check disks for corrupt sectors, create PC compatible formats and
create and restore Fcopy Pro DIM files. It also has a built in virus
checker. Copying and formatting are disabled in this version. Unfortunately
both the program and docs are in German. AUDIO CALCULATOR v1.04 by Hinton
Instruments - An essential tool for Midi musicians. The program actually
features five built-in calculators. You simply supply the basic inputs and
the rest of the values you require are computed for you. The Analog Level
Calculator and Sound Calculator are fully operational but the Music Timing
Calculator, Tape Timing Calculator and Digital Audio Calculator are included
merely to illustrate how they work. Their functions are disabled in this
demo. The full version has all five calculators fully operational and runs
as an ACC and is Multi-TOS compatible.
DEM.4174 OMEGA II by Dr T's Music Software - This disk contains demo
versions of the Omega II MIDI sequencing suite of programs which are now
available from Key Audio Systems. Its features include 48 track drum machine
recording with continuous overdub, interactive track muting, punch in and
punch out, live editing and multiple cue points. It supports both Midi
Machine Control and Midi Time Control. This disk consists of demo versions
of the Keyboard Control Sequencer, the Tiger, Song Editor and Mixer MPE
modules. If you're thinking of buying the full package, this disk is well
worth checking out.
DEM.4461M MORPHER V1.0 by Application Systems Heidelberg - An excellent GEM
based program for creating 'morphs'. Two pictures are loaded up, you then
proceed to load up the control lines and start the morphing process. The end
result is a third picture which is a cross between the first two. The demo
has a number of restrictions imposed upon it including the inability to
create animations. Morpher is dreadfully slow but the results are really
impressive and you can alter the parameters to obtain different results.
Fully Multi-TOS compatible. Requires a minimum resolution of 640x400 so it
only runs in high res or in colour if using a large screen emulator such as
BIG SCREEN or MonSTEr. Alternatively you can use Morpher with a graphic card
in up to 256 colours. CONCORDANCE V1.0 by Spiritware - A GEM based Bible
study tool which allows the user fast access to words and phrases contained
within the scriptures. This demo contains the King James version of the
Pauline epistles (from Romans to Philemon). The full version of the King
James V Bible along with the latest version of the program itself. CT SCANX
V1.0 - This program allows standard PC type handheld scanners to be
controlled via the C'T interface attached to the cartridge port. It can
control a variety of different scanners and scans at resolutions of up to
800 dpi dependent on hardware. Both PRG and ACC versions are supplied.
Unfortunately both program and docs are in German. All programs on this disk
need 1 Meg.
DEM.4496C ZOOM V1.0 - The most fully featured RSC editor I've seen yet. Not
only does it give you extensive control over ordinary RSC files, it also
supports 16 colour DESKICON.RSC files which contain your Desktop icons on
the Falcon. A full range of graphic tools are provided to allow precise
detail when creating or editing these. You can also import Windows icons
from the PC. Everything is complete except that you cannot save your work.
MR SMART'S BIG TIME from MT Software - This is a usable demo of an
educational package aimed about the 5-8 age group. A number of 'games' are
chosen from a menu. Of the 20 games available, six are fully implemented in
this demo. The subject matter (of the complete package) covers telling the
time, grid work, grid sums, shapes, spelling, countries and capitals, memory
games and counting.
DEM.4544 PHOENIX MANAGER from Application Systems Paris - A very advanced
database program which includes countless powerful features. It is heavily
icon based, features movable windows and is Multi-TOS compatible.
Regrettably, all the text is in German. Your database record cards
allow greater flexibility than most and graphics may even be displayed
alongside them. Lots of statistical functions are built in, along with
context sensitive on-line help. Everything seems to be fully operational
with the exception of save. Phoenix Manager runs in any resolution, in low
res it achives this by running inside a resizeable GEM window! Needs a hard
drive and 1 Meg of memory.
DEM.4545M DA'S PICTURE - A usable demo of Digital Arts' top of the range
image processing software. It features floating toolboxes, 8-bit masking and
a host of features never before seen on an Atari. The special effects which
can be achieved with this package are second to none. DA's Picture requires
a resolution of 640x400 (ST high res) or better and eats up about two
megabytes of memory. All graphics are processed in true colour,
regardless of the resolution it is running in. TIF is the only graphic
format supported by the software. The demo is fully functional with the
exception that you cannot save your work and external modules cannot be
loaded.
DEM.4546 INTERFACE v2.2 - The 'standard' RSC editor in Germany. This
program allows you to create and edit RSC files, including the graphics
within them. It also supports the editing of desktop icons within RSC files
as used by TOS v2 upwards (including colour icons on the Falcon). An
incredible piece of software. Menus are in German, but obvious. Fully
function with the exception of save. Like Phoenix, the program itself runs
in a re-sizeable GEM window if run in low res. FONTVERTER - Converts Calamus
fonts to Publishing Partner and PageStream fonts to Calamus. This demo only
converts the first four characters in the font. The full version can also
convert from Calamus to PageStream and Postscript to Calamus.
DEM.4597 OUTLINE ART V3 - A powerful vector graphics editor from the
creators of Calamus. Outline Art 3 supports both mono and colour vector
graphics and includes a vast array of tools with which to manipulate your
work. Eveything is functional except the ability to save your work. The full
version allows graphics to be exported in Calamus CVG and Postscript
formats. You even get a free picture of Boris Yeltsin with the demo version!
Please note that Outline Art 3 requires at least 2 Meg of memory and a
resolution of 640x400 (ST high res) or better. LDW POWER - A demo of this
top of the range spreadsheet. Sit back and watch the speed of the self
running demo, then have a try for yourself (press ESC a few times to get out
of Auto mode). Several example spreadsheets are supplied. The demo is fully
functional except that you cannot save your work.
DEM.4616 CONVECTOR 2 - An excellent program for auto-tracing bitmapped
graphics in order to convert them to vector graphics. A great amount of user
control is offered over the conversion process and you can even edit the
converted images. A number of IMG files are supplied so that you can see
Convector's auto tracing at its best. As well as being a stand alone
program, Convector can hook directly into Arabesque and can be used as a
Megapaint module. This demo is fully functional with the exception that you
cannot save your vector images. The only problem is that it's in German.
DEM.4649 EASE V3 - A replacement Desktop from Germany. It looks similar in
some ways to NeoDesk but offers different functionality. Ease can be fully
integrated with Kobold and MagiC and has a host of features not normally
found in these type of programs. The demo does not allow you to run any
programs but everything else seems to be fully functional. It even includes
a built-in Help mode! Regrettably, both the Ease program and docs are in
German, although the full version is in English. PAPILLON by Application
Systems Heidelberg - A rather impressive art package which supports IMG
(including colour), Doodle, STAD, Degas, Macpaint, NEO, IFF and GIF formats.
Like TruePaint, the tools are attached to the side of the picture within its
window. A comprehensive range of tools are included and its colour reduction
capabilities are particularly impressive, especially when converting to
greyscales. Several pictures are supplied on disk for you to experiment
with. Functions in any resolution with up to 256 colours. Multi-TOS
compatible, runs on large screens too. Well worth a look. Fully functional
except for save. Regrettably, Papillon is in German.
DEM.4651 DIGIT TRAKER by Galactic - A 4-track soundtracker clone which
transposes notes over 5 octaves in real time. More than 30 instruments are
supported in a song and notes may be input from Midi. With the use of an
additional module, you can even get stereo sound on an STFM! The demo is
fully functional except that you cannot save songs or patterns. The full
version is available from CGS Computerbild. Digit Tracker is Mono Only.
CRAZY MUSIC MACHINE by Application Systems Paris - This looks like being a
most comprehensive music package. It has its own built-in sampling software,
allows standard music notes to be entered onto a stave, includes MIDI
support and uses the DSP to create effects. CMM seems to be a cross between
a soundtracker type program and a conventional composition package. Save is
disabled in the demo and an alert box pops up every time you do something,
just to remind you that you are using the demo version. Unfortunately this
program is in French.
DEM.4675 EDITH PROFESSIONAL - A very highly specified text editor from
Germany. It is Multi-TOS and SpeedoGDOS compatible and resolution
independent. Features include context sensitive on-line help, multiple
rulers, auto word wrap, dialogs inside moveable windows, iconification of
windows, multiple clipboards and support for coloured text. Executable files
may be loaded and exited in the same way as with the likes of Knife ST. The
ability to expand abbreviations into complete words or phrases is another
major feature as is the ability to increase the on-screen text size to
assist those who are partially sighted. It may be fair to say that Edith
really is the best there is when it comes to text editors. This version is
fully translated and restricted only in the fact that it does not save. The
full version can be obtained in the UK. See details on disk. KOBOLD V3.0 -
The high speed file copier. If you have a hard drive, Kobold can copy
megabytes in seconds. Even on floppy drives it's much faster than TOS. The
demo allows you to copy up to to 4 Meg of files at a time. However, it
cannot be used as an ACC, cannot be patched into TOS and lots of other
functions are disabled. Unfortunately both program and docs are in German.
The full (English) version is available from System Solutions. HYPERTEXT
V1.0 by Σ-Soft - Perhaps one of the best Hypertext clones available. It
loads up a document and clicking onto words highlighted in bold takes you to
linked parts of the text. The demo is in English but the example doc is
German. Registered users will be able to use their own documents with the
shell an create context sensitive on-line help for their own programs.
DEM.4838 COMA V4.50 by Softbär - A COmunications MAnager for your Atari.
COMA is an integrated suite of programs for those of you who own a fax
modem. It can be used to send and receive faxes and also to act as a
telephone answering machine using voice mail (which automatically
distinguishes between phone and fax calls)if your fax modem supports this.
COMA is fully Multi-TOS and MagiC compatible and may be run as an APP or
ACC. You can import documents in 1st Word or Wordplus format and IMG files
can also be used. COMA automatically compresses your data prior to
transmitting it so as to minimise on-line time. It will work with any class
2 fax modem, transmitting and receiving at speeds of up to 14,400 baud. This
Shareware version is fully functional except that you can only send faxes of
about one fifth of an A4 page. Register with the author to remove this
restriction. UK registration now available, see disk for details.
DEM.5008M DA'S VEKTOR - A very powerful vector graphics editor. It allows
you to autotrace bitmapped graphics, work on your vector graphic in layers
and create animations with vector graphics. DA's Vektor supports both mono
and colour vector graphics and runs under Multi-TOS. Fully functional except
that you cannot save your work. Please note that you need a minimum screen
res of 640x400, so mono only unless you have graphics card. Needs 4 Meg.
DEM.5009C OBSESSION by Unique Developments Sweden - A one table playable
demo of the pinball game everyone's talking about! You play the Aquatic
Adventure board which is full of different ramps and passes. There are big
bonuses to be had, extra balls, safe balls, bonus multipliers and much more.
A fast action fun game with superb graphics, sound and playability. The demo
is so addictive that you'll just have to buy the full game! STE, Mega STE or
Falcon ONLY! Needs 1 Meg.
DEM.5048 IMAGECOPY 3.5 - A usable demo of the latest incarnation of FaST
Club's superb screen grabber, graphic format converter and image print
utility. In addition to the ability to convert between around 30 graphic
file format, this latest version supports the creation of thumbnails
(miniature pictures) prints out pictures in catalogue form, features image
scaling (to fit the current resolution), further improved print quality,
aspect ratio correction (for resolutions with non-square pixels), faster
colour processing, zooming from 1/16 to 16x, and the ability to superimpose
colour separations over each other to get colour prints out of mono
printers. This demo version superimposes program information over
screengrabs, printouts and converted files. Apart from that, it is fully
functional. A number of example images are supplied on disk. Needs 1 Meg.
DEM.5049 STORMTRACKER - The demo version of Astrasoft's Protracker clone.
Although StormTracker works with standard MOD files, it is very different
from other tracker program. For a start, it runs in all resolutions except
low resolution and you work on a conventional music score where you place
notes directly onto a stave and they are replayed using your chosen samples.
StormTracker includes its own sample editor and an extensive set of effects
which can be added to your masterpiece and replays at up to 50khz depending
on which machine you run it on. What's more, it's just brimming with
features aimed at traditional musicians. Almost everything is fully
functional except the ability to save your work. Includes an example MOD
file and some great samples to work with. Full version from Goodman
International. Needs 1 Meg. STEREOCAD - This is one of these programs which
produces stereoscopic images which can be viewed without using red and blue
3D glasses. You can convert any Degas picture directly into a stereogram
using this demo although you cannot save your work. There are lots of
options nestling away behind icons so don't be folled by the apparent lack
of on-screen tools. It takes some people longer than others to see the 3D
image, so you may be in for a long wait. The full version of StereoCAD is
available from JCA Europe. StereoCAD runs in low res only. Needs 1 Meg.
DEM.5050 AT TOOLS by Berthuit Franck - A comprehensive disk management tool
which is primarily intended for use with a hard drive although it will also
work on floppy disk and ramdisks. Its functions include the ability to
verify fats, verify files on disk, repair damaged files, change file
attributes, copy, move, sort and delete files and folders. Extensive info is
available on disk format and the directory tree style of presentation is
impressive to say the least. If that's not enough, AT Tools is also a hard
drive optimiser! Perhaps one of the best presented and most comprehensive
disk management tools on the market. The demo goes through all the motions
of carrying out the selected functions but does not actually write to disk.
Dual language version supplied in English and French with extensive on-line
manual in both languages. Also included on disk is a demo version of a text
editor by the same author.
DEM.5051 DIAMOND BACK 3 - A demo of the most advanced hard drive backup
system available on Atari computers. Features include data compression,
a choice of image backups or file backups, backup to floppy, hard drive or
SCSI tape drive, incremental backups and partial restores from backups to
name just a few! Diamond Back 3 is also Multi-TOS compatible. The demo is
fully functional in every respect except for the fact that the backup disks
will be blank. Needs 1 Meg. E-BACKUP V1.01 - Another hard drive backup
program. This one supports data compression, image backups or file backups
and lots of less obvious features. It supports the formatting of DD, HD and
ED disks of standard and expanded capacity and is fully Multi-TOS compatible
and can perform backups under interrupt. Unfortunately, E-Backup is in
German. This demo version only backs up partition D. ZERO-X v1.55 by Copson
Data - Audio software primarily designed to convert of any size between
different sample types (Cubase Audio, Dame, SoundDesigner, WAVe, AVR, WinRec
and RAW 16-bit formats). It also automatically finds the best loop positions
in samples and transfers samples to and from samplers and sample players via
SCSI and MIDI and features basic sample editing with auto-cut and beat loop
functions. On the STE, TT and Falcon, samples can be played back from within
Zero-X. Apart from the inability to save, a number of other restrictions
exist in this demo version. Needs a minimum resolution of 640x400, so high
res or graphic cards only. Although E_Backup and Zero-X will load up on a
520, they need at least 1 Meg in order to be usable.
DEM.5052C GRAFIX by Silly Software - Learn to draw and paint the 'Silly'
way! Well that's not exactly true, this is a demo of a seriously well
thought out graphics tutorial package which aims to teach you quite a number
of tricks of the trade. The graphics are drawn by a semi-professional artist
and the tutorials are well laid out and easy to follow. In this demo, five
of the eighteen tutorials are enabled. Full version from Goodmans.
DEM.5053 STUDIO PHOTO PROFESSIONAL by Lexicor - The followup to the highly
successful Studio Photo. This latest version imports over 20 file types,
converts between RGB, CYM, CYMK and greyscale palettes. There's a host of
drawing and retouching tools as well as very powerful filtering options.
Images can be projected onto 3D shapes, specified colours can be protected
from the various processes, colour separations can be viewed on screen and
masking is now supported. Images may also be zoomed and tools can be used
within zoom mode. Apart from save being disabled, most other functions are
usable in this demo. Unfortunately the program is in French. Needs 1 Meg.
EDHAK V3.0 from Douglas Communications - This useful tool is something of a
hybrid! It is a text editor, a memory editor and a disk sector editor! Files
and memory may be viewed and edited in HEX, Binary or Decimal. It also
allows data to be sent via modem from within the program. EDHak runs as a
PRG or ACC. This demo does not allow you to save data to files or to disk
sectors. RD DEMO by Simon Gibbs - A file compression utility for hard drive
use. It automatically compresses files when you save them and decompresses
them when you run them. It's just a case of putting it in the Auto folder
and forgetting about it! Similar in concept to HiSoft's DataLite. The demo
does not actually compress files but a number of already compressed files
are included to demonstrate how it works.
DEM.5108 QUILL by Jonathon Lawrence - Described as a 'pen and ink freehand
vector drawing package', Quill is an ingenious product which lets you draw
or write on screen using the mouse or Tabby graphics tablet as if it were a
pen. The degree of accuracy and smoothness need to be seen to be believed,
even with a mouse! The full version allows line drawings and writing to be
converted to vector graphics. The demo is a full implementation with Save
disabled. A number of examples of work created with Quill are included on
disk. Full version distributed in the UK by CGS. SAM2DISK by Dattrax
Software - Allows you to sample sound direct to hard disk on any ST/E. You
will require the Master Sound, Stereo Master, Stereo Replay or Replay 16
hardware cartridges in order to use this program. It takes the input direct
from the cartridge and saves it to your hard drive, thus limiting the sample
size to the free space on your hard drive rather than available memory. The
resulting samples may then be played back through the hardware if you are
using one of the Replay cartridges. Sampling frequency is limited to 20Khz
due to the speed of ST hard drives. Apart from this minor limitation, you
can sample direct to disk just the same as on the Falcon. The package also
includes a sequencer which allows you to piece together short samples into
loops. However, samples cannot be chopped up or sequences saved (in fact you
are locked out of the sequencer) with this demo version. The full version
includes these additional features and more. Colour Only. TESSERA by Dolphin
Software - A novel adaptation of the Tetris theme. It is played on a 3D grid
and has all the Tetris elements like explosions, bonuses, multipliers and
does centre around blocks being correctly positions on the grid. However,
that's where the similarity stops! The squares in the grid are
disintegrating and you must cover each square with a block. However, you
cannot have three like blocks in a row, otherwise they explode. In addition,
the blocks come fast and furious and are not easily positioned. Many
original elements in this game make it a fun challenge. This demo only
allows play on medium skill level and has only three levels. The full
version only costs £5 from the authors. Calling Tessera addictive is an
understatement!
DEM.5109 TWILIGHT by Delirium Arts - A demo of a modular based screen saver
which runs in any resolution from mono to True Colour and is fully Multi-TOS
compatible. The demo restricts screen saving to 90 seconds and does not
allow you to save you configuration. Apart from that, this version is fully
functional. What makes this screen saver unique is that it plays animated
'films' in mono or colour and attaches sound samples to the animations. It
also gives the user a fair amount of control over the various parameters.
18 example animations are supplied on disk.
DEM.5271C HOLLYWOOD HUSTLER DEMO by Desert Star Software - Hollywood
Hustler is the closest you're ever going to get to a multi-media game on the
ST. It features digitised stills and animations, sampled speech and real
actors in this ultimate interactive five card draw poker game. The full
version comes on three disks and features a movie style intro, random game
elements, different locations and three different endings. This demo allows
you to play three hands against Joe Chuck and Montana Slim. Well worth
checking out, especially if you're thinking of getting the full version.
Needs 1 Meg.
DEM.5216C TEAM by Impact Software - A demo of the football game of the same
name. You take on the role of Holland in a match against Colombia in this
demo version. Everything is fully playable with the only restriction being
that you just get to play this single match (as many times as you like). The
full version has a lot more game content but the demo shows off the
graphics, stereo soundtrack, sound effects and animation to their fullest
effect. STE ONLY. ALIEN THING by 999 Software - Your mission is to
infiltrate and destroy an alien spacecraft which is on a collision course
with earth. This demo allows you to play one of the ten levels present in
the full version and is STE enhanced, although it does run on an STFM.
DEM.5335 NEODESK 4 by Gribnif - A fully usable demo of the latest
incarnation of this leading replacement Desktop. This version represents a
major upgrade over NEODesk 3 and includes many advanced features, many of
which are discussed in the accompanying text file. NEODesk 4 is fully
compatible with leading multi-tasking operating systems and offers all the
advantages of TOS 2.06 and NEODesk 3 as well as lots of similar features to
those found in Windows on the PC and System 7 on the Apple Macintosh. The
demo does not allow you to copy or move files, save configuration or format
a disk. It goes through the motions in most cases to demonstrate its speed,
but does not actually write anything. In addition your computer resets if
you try to quit the demo. TWIST II by HiSoft - A well presented relational
database which uses the 'modern face of GEM'. Almost everything can be
customised to suit your individual needs and each database is contained
within its own GEM window (containing its own drop down menus) on the Twist
Desktop. The demo is restricted to saving databases containing less than 10
records and does not print out. Well worth checking out.
DEM.5529 COMPONIUM by Suma - An eight track composition program. Unlike
tracker type programs, this package uses standard musical notation written
on a conventional music stave. Different instrument samples can be assigned
to different tracks and several songs can be open at once, allowing you to
cut and paste data between them. Componium is fully GEMmed and very well
documented. This is a near-fully functional demo with just Midi import and
the Sample Studio disabled in addition to Save (of course!). There are seven
high quality tracks supplied for you to listen to, or you can have a try at
composing your own. HD DRIVER v7.5 by Uwe Seimet - A usable demo of this
popular hard disk driver software. Amongst its features, it supports drives
of over 1 Gb, is fully XHDI v1.25 compliant, supports ZIP drives and DOS
formatted drives, allows up to 23 partitions, supports two IDE drives
(Falcon) and is fully configurable. In addition, HD Driver is probably the
fastest hard disk driver as well as being the most advanced in terms of
features. The demo only lets you write to partition C, limits the size of
supported media to 1 Gb and does not let you save your customised
preferences. Apart from that, it is fully configurable.
DEM.5634 PHOTOSHOW STE - A slideshow of photographic images created using
the package of the same name. You'll be surprised at just how professional
the results can be on an ordinary STE! The demo also runs on the STFM but is
less impressive on that machine. Needs 1 Mb. ROAD RUNNER V1.0 by Andreas
Schrell - A sort of German version of Route Finder. In other words, a route
planner for Germany. Road Runner lists 7700 places and calculates
appropriate routes from A to B according to your specifications. This demo
does not allow you to print or save the results and has a few other
limitations. Well worth checking out if you're planning to tour Germany this
summer, especially since the full version is very reasonably priced.
Obviously the program and docs are in German but we've done a RUF
translation of the docs. Needs 4 Mb and a hard drive.
DEM.5635 DBE TRACKER v2.0 by STGhost of Sector 1 - A Shareware 32-track
Soundtracker clone for the STE/TT/Falcon. It loads MOD, S3M, 669, MTM, PMD3,
DTM, GTK, XM and MGM module formats and samples in SPL and AVR formats (WAV
and DTM also supported in the full version). Quality depends on number of
voices used, so the fewer you use, the better the quality, although you can
still achieve respectable results with more than the usual 4 voices. A
useful feature is its ability to load Atomik, Ice and Speed packed MODs as
well as loading files directly from within LZH, ZIP or ARJ archives. This
demo is pre-release and has some features (such as MIDI support and the
sample editor) missing. Obviously the demo does not save MODs, although
individual samples can be saved. Full version available from the author at
VERY low cost. GENEVA V1.03 (RELEASE 004) DEMO by Gribnif Software - At last
we have a demo version of the Geneva multi-tasking OS. Although this version
(understandably) has a number of limitations imposed on its use, it does
allow you to experiment with Geneva's multi-tasking capabilities within a
'real' working environment. Unlike most product demos, this one actually
includes comprehensive instructions on how to get started. Well worth
checking out if you're thinking of buying the full version. Geneva works
best with a replacement Desktop such as NeoDesk 4, Ease or Thing (on
UTL.5102).
DEM.5636 CLUB70 by Symphonics Division - Demo version of a patch editor and
librarian for the Yamaha DTS70 drum trigger system. Club70 includes several
features which assist the management, editing and creative process of using
the DTS70 for percussion as well as keyboards. It lets you edit two banks
simultaneously and cut/copy/paste freely between them. In addition, you have
full control over Performance an Chain patches via mouse or keyboard and can
trigger sequencers by automatically assigning chords to different pads. The
demo is fully functional except that you cannot save banks, transmit banks
or print and a few other functions are disabled. Includes an extensive 'get
you going' guide on disk. Colour or mono, needs 1 Mb. COMPUTER HISTORY V1.3
- A sampler of a package which chronicles the history of computers over the
years. This demo features background information on 36 computers including
such notables as the Xerox Alto, Atari ST, Apple Macintosh, Acorn Achimedes,
Commodore Amiga and Sinclair Spectrum. Each entry lists the basic memory,
CPU & speed, built-in software, storage method used, year of release and
gives some background info on the machine. The demo is worth getting just
out of curiosity if nothing else. As for the full version, it has stats on
over 1500 different systems running into over 17 Mb of compressed data! It
includes much more background on the machines and articles on the big names
in the industry including Nolan Bushnell (Atari founder), Bill Gates (we've
all heard of him!), Sir Clive Sinclair and Jeff Minter! Full version from
Top Byte Software. Colour only, needs 1 Mb.
DEM.5917M, DEM.5918M, DEM.5919M, DEM.5920M DA'S LAYOUT TC V6.0 - A usable
demo of Digital Arts' answer to Calamus SL. This demo version seems to offer
much of the functionality of Calamus but with a few notable extras such as
PPD output for printing to PostScript devices, colour selection via drag &
drop, page/image previews (from the file selector and much more. It imports
graphics in TIFF, TGA, GIF, CVG, GEM and EPS formats and supports output to
24-pin, bubblejet, laser, Deskjet and Postscript devices. Several fax
drivers are also included. Pages can be output as TIFF, CVG, EPS or in
Didot's own vector format as an alternative to printing. The program is very
fast in operation. This demo version seems to be restricted only in the fact
that you are restricted to 30 minutes' use and cannot save your work. When
you start up it will be in German, select from Sprache the Optionen menu to
choose the required language. English, French and Italian are supported in
addition to German. Needs 4 Mb and a minimum resolution of 640x400, so high
res or graphic card only on an ST.
DEM.5952 & DEM.5953 PAPYRUS v5.11 - Probably the most exciting document
processor since Calligrapher! As well as all the standard features, Papyrus
supports multiple fonts (both its own format and SpeedoGDOS/NVDI) and is
Multi-TOS compatible. Its features also include multiple rulers, multiple
text styles within a document, graphic import and re-size to screen or
printer and the ability to create tables easily. You can set up your page
layout to suit, zoom in on any part of the document, apply various line and
fill styles and create vector objects from within the program. Printer
support is extensive and covers 9-pin Epson, 24-pin Epson & NEC and HP
Laserjet/Deskjet (including the colour models). The output is as good as
anything you'll get from a DTP package. You can create an even save your
documents, you just can't print them with this demo. You do not need to
install SpeedoGDOS or NVDI 3 (or later) to use Papyrus but the package is
enhanced for these systems if available. The version effectively replaces
the v2.21 on DEM.4301. Now in English. Needs 1 Mb.
DEM.6003M SCOOTER V2.10C by HK Datentechnik - The first English release of
this popular PCB design package. This is a professional package which
handles up to 20 layers and offers complete control over such things as hole
sizes, track widths and grid size with measurements accurate to 1/1000th of
an inch. It includes an extensive library of electronic components and the
ability to design and add your own. An invaluable feature is the ability to
route signal paths either manually or using the built-in autorouter. Output
is supported to most 9-pin, 24-pin and laser printers with the option of
outputting to a file in IMG or GEM format. Plotter output is also supported.
The demo is fully functional except that you cannot print or save your own
work, although the supplied examples can be edited or printed. Includes an
extensive 'get you going guide'. Full version available in the UK. Needs 1
Mb.
DEM.6083 TEXEL v1.0 by Thomas Much - An impressive GEM based spreadsheet
which draws its inspiration from Microsoft's Excel on the PC and Mac. In
fact it's so similar, you can easily forget you're using Texel on your
Atari! Texel lets you import and export files in Excel, Lotus 1-2-3, LDW
Power, DIF and ASCII formats (some are disabled in this demo) and a few
others as well as having its own file format. It takes full advantage of
(Speedo)GDOS, NVDI and multi-tasking systems where appropriate and has a
full set of tools which offer identical functionality to Excel. Coloured
text, coloured boxes and multiple fonts and varying point sizes are all
supported by Texel, making it the most versatile tool of its kind. If you
want to use a top of the range modern spreadsheet on your Atari, Texel is
your only choice. This demo (and accompanying docs) is entirely in German
but an English version of the full version is available from System
Solutions in the UK. The Clipboard is disabled as are all Save functions,
everything else appears to be fully functional. Needs 1 Mb.
DEM.6098 JINNEE V1.0 by Application Systems Hiedelberg - A replacement
Desktop primarily targeted at MagiC users although it can be used under
single TOS or Multi-TOS provided you run the supplied WDIALOG program first.
It is AV compatible and almost everything is configurable from the user's
point of view. The demo version does not allow the use of custom icons or a
Desktop backdrop and has several other features disabled. It looks very
promising (if you excuse the lack of custom icons) but is entirely in
German. An English version of the full product will probably be distributed
by System Solutions. Needs at least 1 Mb and a hard drive.
DEM.6223 SMURF V0.9 by Therapy Seriouz Software - A picture viewer and
manipulation package. This early release includes over 60 import modules
covering just about every file format imaginable on near enough every
computer. It even loads PhotoShop files! Export modules are restricted to
Degas, IMG, PPM, TGA, TruePaint and several more obscure formats. Surf's
greatest claim to fame is its vast range special effects and filters which
include gamma correction, convert colour depth, adjust brightness &
contrast, rotate, clip, scale, bumpmap and others. In fact there's over 30
modules in this version. Restrictions in this version include no printing
functions and the Smurf logo printed in the centre of your image. Smurf
works in any resolution and works best under Multi-TOS, Geneva or MagiC, but
it does also run under TOS.This looks like developing into a very powerful
package. Needs at least 1Mb, a hard drive although not essential, is
recommended. Regrettably there's virtually no docs and the program's in
German.
DEM.6224M SNIPPIT SYNTH v1.2 by Electronic Cow - A Granular Synthesiser for
all Ataris. Granular synthesis is a method of sound generation which uses
small sonic events to create a composite sample. In Snippit, you have
complete control over each sonic event (or grain), including the type, and
its placement in the three axes of audio: time, frequency, and amplitude.
Use Snippit Synth to create a vast library of extraordinary sounds, for use
with sample sequencers, professional audio applications (like Cubase Audio),
or as a source for your MIDI sampler. This demo comes with over 20 sounds
for you to experiment with. Although Snippit Synth runs on any Atari,
there's no sound output unless you have an STE/TT/Falcon! There are a number
of restrictions in this demo version.
DEM.6225M MIDI ARPEGGIATOR V2.11 by Electronic Cow - Use MIDI Arpeggiator to
create arpeggio-style mini-sequences for use in your compositions, by saving
the parts as standard MIDI files (both type 0 and 1). MIDI Arpeggiator can
run as either a desk accessory or normal program, so it can be open at the
same time as your favourite GEM sequencer (memory permitting).
Alternatively, use MIDI Arpeggiator on its own as a live sequencing tool
with its many real-time functions and play modes... There are a number of
restrictions in this demo version. SOUND CHIP SYNTH V3.00 by Electronic
Cow - A Software Synthesiser for all Ataris. Use Sound Chip Synth to unlock
the burbling sonic potential inside the ST's built-in FM sound chip, and
create some rasping analogue-style noises. Sound Chip Synth's great as a
monophonic sound source in a MIDI set-up, but can equally be used as a
sample generator for other software to play your burbles with... A number
of sounds are included on the disk. There are a number of restrictions
in this demo version.
DEM.6230M & DEM.6231M SHARPSCORE V3.2A by Take Control - A top class DTP
package for score writing. It lets you place notes directly onto the staves
and add text (using the range of fonts and point sizes supported by your
system) to your compositions. Your finished work may then be printed out
using GDOS. MIDI files may be imported and Sharpscore will automatically
convert them into sheet music ready for printing. Similarly, your
compositions may be saved as MIDI files and played through the built-in
speaker or output via one of a number of sampling cartridges. if you do not
have a MIDI instrument attached. This package offers an extensive amount of
control over both the composition and DTP side of your music making and is
very highly recommended. Please note Sharpscore only runs from floppy and
does not exit legally. Also, you should ensure you boot up from the floppy
as it contains GDOS fonts necessary for the display of your musical notes.
Don't try using Speedo or NVDI unless you know how to get the supplied
(bitmap) fonts working with your setup! All save and print functions are
disabled in this demo version. Needs 2Mb. Two disk set £3.00.
DEM.6305 EC-909 - An analogue drum machine emulator from Electronic Cow
Software. It is based on the famous Roland TR-909 drum machine and comes
complete with sixteen original samples from that machine. EC-909 can create
single bar patterns and export them to sample editors in AIFF or AVR formats
(8-bit or 16-bit in mono or stereo). They can also be exported in MIDI
format for use in your sequencer. Although perfectly usable, many of the
best features are disabled in this demo. Needs 1Mb, MONO Only, STE Only.
SCRIBBLE SYNTH - Another of Electronic Cow Software's innovative music
products. Scribble Synth is an additive synthesiser in a similar vein to
Snippit Synth but this time, you make your music by drawing frequency
envelopes on the screen! These mouse scribbles (of which there are five
per sound) are transformed into 2D frequency spectrum plots by the
software. The results can be amazing, strange sci-fi warbles, time based
pitch and filtering effects and more, are all possible as well as some
really deep bass sounds. Sounds can be exported to tracker programs and
sample editors in AIFF, SPL or AVR formats (8-bit and 16-bit in mono or
stereo and at any frequency up to 50khz). Sounds can also be dumped via
MIDI to an MSDS compatible sampler. A number of the ground-breaking
features are disabled in this demo version. Mono Only, needs 1Mb. HP V1.16
by Homa Systems - Demo version of the NOVA driver for the Hewlett Packard
Scanjet IICX, IIp, 3P/C, 4P/C range of flatbed scanners. It handles page
sizes up to 8.5"x14" and supports pre-scan and various adjustments such
as gamma correction, brightness and contrast, adjustable scaling and
scanning at up to 1200dpi (dependent on your scanner's capabilities). It
runs as an ACC or PRG and can scan directly into programs which support the
GDPS protocol, or direct to your hard drive. I can't say what's disabled
in this demo version as I don't own one of these scanners. MUST V1.17 by
Homa Systems - Demo version of the NOVA driver for the Mustek Paragon 6000/
12000 CX range of flatbed scanners. All specifications as per the HP driver
(above)
